Teens are led to believe that if they do a crime and are of youthful offender status they get a slap on the wrist. I am so happy that you fought for Jason. A message needs to be sent that if you do the crime you must do the punishment...no matter how young you are. I know how passionate you are about your children and I commend you...Love in Christ..Jackie Brienza

Re: Toyota may use “smart pedal” to fix unintended accleration problem

Check out the online Toyota engine oil sludge petition. There, over 3,000 people have searched for information about their major Toyota and Lexus engine failures. They report how Toyota was unwilling to resolve the problem. Many report that Toyota dealerships LIED to them about the matter and intentionally withheld information about the "Customer Support Program for Engine Oil Gelation" which was initiated in 2002.

Toyota is escaping responsibility for this matter by blaming the vehicle owners. Why are so many emissions-control components failing? Why are so many sludge victims facing a stalled vehicle on major highways and the potential for life-threatening injury? Why is the NHTSA not doing more in this matter?

Toyota and Lexus owners are on their own---but little do they know that no one is following up on the major problems in their vehicles. Toyota can say it is going to send out 3.3 million letters to its customer and then NOT do it! This is what happened in the engine oil sludge case. Far too many Toyota owners report they never received such a promised letter.

John Hanson said from day one that Toyota was "unaware of a single case of engine oil sludge in a properly maintained vehicle." Hmm....is this just what John Hanson wants us to believe? If so, the truth is that there have been hundreds, no thousands, of this engine failure in the wake of proper vehicle maintenance. But...Toyota doesn't want to acknowledge this OR tell the public this. It is far easier to DENY, DENY, DENY!

When will someone stop Toyota? When will Toyota be called to task for the lies and deception?

Re: Toyota may use “smart pedal” to fix unintended accleration problem

Toyota is hiding more than sudden acceleration problems. Research Toyota Engine Oil Sludge to find more. See the video about it on YouTube. I've been following Toyota's response since late 2000, and the blame directed at the Toyota and Lexus owners is unconscionable! Toyota does not care about the loss of human life, IMO. It cares only about the bottom line. It is only worried about its reputation, which IMO is inflated given the history of air bag, brake, transmission, engine, seat belt, emissions control component failures, etc. When will Toyota stop deceiving the public?

Re: Brake problems prompt Toyota vehicle recalls

my '09 corolla was totalled in jan of this year. It is
a shame that the victims of these injuries very often go undiagnosed and
untreated. Even if diagnosed, it is often difficult for them to find out
about how many emotional side-effects are a result of TBI, like
depression. We in the community knew about it because of their very successful marketing program. If you look at the photo, here on the site, you can plainly see the words 'Outlet Store". There was even an article on April 14, 2006 in the Plainview Daily Herald announcing the opening of the outlet store. I wonder why City of Plainview is denying knowledge of the Outlet Store? They even loaned PCA money through a revolving funds account. I would be curious to discover whose signatures are on that document and what kind of information exists on PCA's financial statement regarding repayment of the loan in particular the sources of income that would repay the loan such as those derived from an Outlet Store. There is a paper trail linking City of Plainview to having knowledge of the Outlet Store at the PCA Plainview plant if someone would use open records .

Re: FDA issues warning of serious adverse reaction to antidepressants

Perhaps the most serious side effect of antipsychotic medications is neuroleptic malignant syndrome or NMS, a condition that occurs when someone taking an antipsychotic drug is ill or takes a combination of drugs. People with NMS cannot move or talk. They also have unstable blood pressure and heart rates. Often NMS is fatal. Even when the person recovers, he or she has an 80% chance of experiencing NMS again if given antipsychotic drugs.

Re: Traumatic brain injury: Jason’s story part five

My thoughts and prayers are with you..

Re: Traumatic brain injury: Jason’s story part five

Great job Carol! It is amazing when you start looking
at the numbers of people injured or killed in these types of crashes
every year. A large part of what we do is to help raise awareness so
that people like yourself will have more information about safety, and
will be armed to ask for protections from the manufacturers because you
know the facts. We appreciate your feedback!

Re: Insurance institute boosts roof crush standards

I was quite surprised to read this "Rollover accidents kill approximately 10,000 people every year and catastrophically injure 24,000". I have been asking and as yet nobody seems to care about CFL's and the danger they are set to pose to our world. So I have updated information and thank you for reading this. I still will continue to work to get this INSANE CFL bulb law reversed.

I thought for sure Congressman Poe might have been, but I was mistaken. I have written his writer, have not recieved a response. I am beginning to think it was a smoke and pony show for comedy relief on the house floor. I have begun a group to gain support to this end. This law must be reversed. It is not an option.

Simple math:

2008: An estimated 300 million bulbs bought in America. Each Bulb contains 5mg of extremely dangerous Mercury.

With this small amount of purchases, compared to where that number will grow, I believe you will see the answer is simply outrageous. WAL_MART is excited to plan on selling 100 MILLION of these bulbs this year. These numbers are mere guesses as to what the real number of sales are IN THE WORLD are is any ones guess. A law? If CFL's were sooooo good we would not have needed an 882 page Law and the EPA would not have had to write a 3 page single spaced document regarding the uses and disposal of the same. We would not be scrambling to open haz waste disposal facilities for the same. I ask, where is intelligents today. Was it all used up in he times of our founders? This law was and is sheer lunacy.

This massive amount of Mercury is posed for our landfills and then into our water. The government and the EPA stance that the energy saving is worth the danger is ludicrous. There are many ways to save energy as well as lower emissions rather than this bulb law.

Indulge my little rant here: Last I read this government was of the people, by the people and for the people. The government has grossly overshot their position on this matter. I know it is not the first time, but as for me, I am tired of letting them get away with whatever they want at the people's expense. Most people have thrown their hands in the air and allow the government to do as they please, and to this end we find ourselves in the positions we are today.

I aim to see this law REVERSED. I am looking to connect with anyone who feels the same. Congress passed this ridiculous law in darkness without informing the people. People had no knowledge of it, so therefore could not make an informed decision and or approve it. People are in the dark to the dangers these bulbs pose for us, our children (both born and unborn), our homes, landfills and our planet.

Look in any Chemical Handbook and you will be enlightened about the Dangers of Mercury - there is a reason it is handled with Iron Flasks. This law is sheer lunacy.

I know this was long and I am sorry to take your time, but as you may sense, I am passionate about the reversal of this law. How do you feel about it? If you read this far, I thank you. It is more important than anyone might realize.

Best to you,
Karen Nardella

Re: recalled cribs contain lead paint finish

There are things and products that are dangerous so we should be aware.

Re: father and son sue Wal-Mart for Black Friday stampede injuries

ON black and blue friday I was injured. The people are pointing at the government; the government is pointing at the food manufacturers; the government and the food industry are pointing at non-government inspections. That's a lot of fingers pointing in a lot of different directions.

Let's talk about where the fingers aren't pointing.

The fingers aren't pointing at the people, people like you and me. Nobody's pointing at the people who went to work at this plant every day. The people who navigated through filthy, unsanitary, illegal conditions and collected a paycheck at the end of the day. Where is the personal responsibility for a job well done? Where are the whistle-blowers?

The fingers aren't pointing at us, the consumer, who bought these products. Where is the personal responsibility for the food you lay out for your family every day? When was the last time you slaughtered something personally to feed to your family? When was the last time you grew your own produce? Baked a loaf of bread? Milked your own damn cow?

When was the last time you walked into a food manufacturing facility and said, "I feed your product to my child, I'd like to see how it's made."

Step up to the plate, folks. We are all, each and every one of us, responsible for the way things are. Don't like it? Change it. Take some responsibility. There's plenty to go around.

Re: Escalators and Crocs: a dangerous pairing

Thank you for your comment.
